Report: Hospitals to see extra $300M in revenues

American hospitals are expected to find an additional $300 million in net patient revenues in 2007, as more than 1,000 additional healthcare providers adopt new contract management and payment review solutions for revenue cycle management. That’s according to the results of a recent survey conducted by PayStream Healthcare of Charlotte, N.C. The 60-page report is titled “Leaving Money on the Table: A Buyer’s Guide to Contract Management and Payment Review Solutions.”

Trizetto group completes acquisition of QCSI

The TriZetto Group, Inc. of Newport Beach, Calif. has completed the acquisition of privately held Quality Care Solutions, Inc. As previously announced, the definitive agreement for the acquisition was executed on Sept. 13, 2006, and the company received regulatory clearance on Dec. 29. Under terms of the deal, TriZetto paid about $130 million to QCSI equity holders; in January 2008, contingent on certain factors, TriZetto may pay up to an additional $12 million, including a $7 million earn-out and a $5 million hold back.

Resiant, SSD agree on CMoffice distribution deal

Resiant Networks of Minneapolis, a provider of online HIPAA compliance management solutions, has entered into an agreement with Simplified Software Development (SSD), LLC for the distribution of its CMoffice online HIPAA compliance management solution. SSD will make CMoffice available to its network of more than 700 nursing homes across the nation. Florida-based SSD offers a Web-based service that helps nursing homes track the reporting requirements necessary to comply with Medicare and Medicaid regulations.

WebMD reports increase in 4Q revenues, site visits

The WebMD Health Corp. has announced that revenues for the three months ending Dec. 31, 2006 are expected to be between $79 million and $80 million, well above the $73.5 million to $76.5 million that had been previously forecast. The New York-based provider of online health information services also announced that it had recorded about 35 unique monthly users and 800 million page views in the December quarter, about a 35 percent increase in both areas over the same period in 2005. The WebMD Health Network operates WebMD Health, Medscape, MedicineNet, eMedicine, eMedicine Health, RxList and theHeart.org.
